These are made to be played with. A bit of looking after and they'll last years.
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of dishwashing liquid, an old toothbrush for the awkward bits. Rinse and air dry. That's the whole method.
For texta or crayon, a little isopropyl alcohol on a cloth usually lifts it. Avoid acetone, nail polish remover, bleach and anything abrasive — they'll dull the matte finish or eat into the plastic.
The One That Actually Matters: Heat
PLA softens at around 55–60°C. A closed car in an Australian summer gets well past that. Leave one on a dashboard and you'll come back to a sad, droopy version of it — and that's not covered by our replacement policy, because there's nothing we can do about physics.
For the same reason: no dishwasher, no microwave, no hot water above hand-warm, and keep them off heaters, windowsills in full sun and the top of the fridge.
Unjamming a Flexi
- Flex the whole thing gently back and forth a few times to find the stiff joint.
- Work that joint on its own, slowly, in both directions.
- Still stuck? Run it under warm (not hot) tap water while flexing.
- If you can see a whisker of stray plastic, ease it out with a fingernail or tweezers.
New flexi minis are often a touch stiff for the first few days — that's normal, and they loosen with use. If it stays jammed after all that, email us.
Storing Them
Anywhere cool and out of direct sunlight. Extended UV will slowly fade bright colours, so a windowsill isn't the best home for one. A drawer, a shelf, a pencil case or a pocket is ideal.
What They're Not For
- Not for children under 3. Small parts, and joints can be pulled apart with effort.
- Not chew toys — for kids or pets. Printed plastic isn't food-safe and a determined dog will win.
- Not for food or drink. The layer lines in a 3D print can trap bacteria and can't be properly sanitised, so nothing here should hold anything you plan to eat.
- Not weight-bearing. Planters and desk pieces are fine holding what they're designed for. Standing on one will end badly for both of you.
If Something Breaks
Send us a photo and your order number. If it went under normal use within 3 months, we'll print you a replacement. If it met a lawnmower, tell us anyway — we'll sort something out.
