How It's Made

Nothing here sits in a warehouse waiting to be bought. Your order doesn't exist until you place it.

1 · Somebody Asks for It

Every design starts as a request — usually from one of our daughters, increasingly from people who follow along and send us ideas. A pink cat. A longer dragon. An axolotl. A clicker shaped like a strawberry. There's no theme and no house style beyond "would a kid actually want this".

2 · We Design It

The idea gets modelled in 3D, then sliced — software that cuts the model into hundreds of horizontal layers and works out the exact path the printer's nozzle will take. Flexi minis are the fiddly ones: the joints have to be designed with precisely the right gap so they print already assembled and move the moment they come off the plate.

3 · The Girls Try to Break It

Prototypes get flexed, dropped, sat on and put through a school bag for a week. Some don't survive, and those go back to the drawing board. If a design is boring, it doesn't go on the site.

4 · You Place Your Order

Once we receive your order, we all do a happy dance! Then we review everything that needs to be printed. Combining pieces using the same filament colours.

5 · It Prints Overnight

We print on a Bambu Lab P2S using PLA-Matte filament. Most pieces take four to nine hours, laid down a fraction of a millimetre at a time, which is why the printer generally runs while we're asleep. The matte finish is deliberate — it hides layer lines, feels warmer in the hand and doesn't show fingerprints the way glossy filament does.

6 · We Check It and Pack It

Every piece is handled before it's boxed: supports removed, edges de-burred, joints flexed to make sure they actually move. Then it's packed and posted by us, from our own warehouse.
